The late Cheryl Gillan, the coalition's first Welsh Secretary, had a majority of around 15,000 at the 2019 general election. Last night, that majority was more than overturned.

Sarah Green is going to be an outstanding Liberal Democrat MP for Chesham and Amersham, standing up for her constituents and holding the Government to account. I can’t wait to welcome her as my new colleague in the House of Commons.
This was never an easy election. We had a mountain to climb with the Tories riding high in the polls. It’s more than 100 years since there was a last a Liberal MP in Buckinghamshire.
