It is high time we listened to our critics and elected an unknown good-looking young leader with no obvious principles, in order to reverse these disasters and hand seats back to the Tories.

I thought irony was dead!!
It would seem Ming thinks so!
We await today's by-election results with trepidation!
So far, so good:
Whitchurch, Basingstoke & Deane - LD hold
"The Tories threw absolutely everything at this. Nevertheless, the
result held up very well against May (also with a new candidate)..."
Eric Dunlop (LD) 858 52.8% -5.6%
Con 709 43.6% +2.0%
Lab 58 3.6% +3.6%
Turnout 42%
The totals are in: seven successful defences (Con 3, Lab 2, LD 1 and Ind 1). So no change where it really matters, among real voters.
But I anticipate our MORI ratings to go up, purely on the back of the extra publicity for Liberal Democrats in the last seven days.
