BNP fishing in troubled waters

It is typical of the British National Party, like similar organisations before them, to take advantage of difficult times to try to recruit members. The Evening Post shows them in Neath, presumably blaming Jews and Muslims for the economic crisis. They have apparently added to their platform the breaches in electoral law committed by Peter Hain's leadership campaign. How discriminating against people of different ethnicity or religion is expected to clean up the UK political system defeats us.

We support Mr Hain's condemnation of the BNP and trust that the county borough issues its own rebuttal of the party's divisive message. We deprecate the Evening Post's giving the organisation more publicity than it deserves (including a colour photograph which is technically better than those which have illustrated many more deserving news stories) and for not making clear that Brian Mahoney is not a local councillor (nor a member of any principal authority in Wales), but merely the BNP's national organiser.

Readers who are tempted to join BNP are advised to read Searchlight first.

presumably blaming Jews and Muslims?
So you don't really know then?
The BNP do have jewish members, in fact councillors too.

Do you know what Islam actually is? or are you one of these people that defend it, without knowing what it is?

prehaps you should go and find out, before you are forced to become one!

I knew of a councillor in Barry, whose father was Jewish, who supported BNP for a while. He left, very disillusioned, when he found out more about the party and its history.

There may be a Jewish BNP councillor now, but anti-Semitism is still rife in the party. Clearly the guy's hatred of Muslims has blinded him to this.

Funny comments guys considering one of the BNP group at Neath is actually Jewish.

One of the BNP team at Neath is Jewish. Would you like to explain that to us please.

Just to clear the air I am the person that people feel so free to discuss.
Most comments about the BNP are ill informed conjecture and quite frankly often very offensive.
Mr Little states that there is anti Semitism in the BNP as if it is a fact. How is he qualified to say that when his comment has no substance and is little more than hearsay?
I was welcomed into the BNP without a bat of an eye, and having now reached an integral part of the party say that anti Semitism does not exist. Judaism is no threat to the BNP or Britain.
I see anti Jewish propaganda on television news and hear snide Jewish comments all the time in everyday conversation. It does not bother me and has not since I was a child. What does bother me is that over 200 recent attacks on Jews in London have gone unreported
The ignorance displayed by the writer of your lead is typical. If he or she would care to read the contents of the leaflet which is posted in full on our West Wales Patriot site they can judge for themselves. They seem to have fallen into the trap set by the big boys who seek to destroy democracy by shouting the loudest.
Quite frankly I expected a higher standard of honesty from the Liberal Democrats, not hyperbole.

Looking at the membership list of the BNP in Neath PT there doesn't appear to be any "Jewish Names" there.

Another Anon.

If anyone has a membership list of Labour and would like to put it into the public domain, I'm sure people would be grateful.

The BNP are only explaining why we have these difficult time by speaking the truth

And it is the axis of evil Lib/Lab/Cons who are proven liars cheats and embezzlers who are the main recruiting sergeants for the BNP

The new power station at Nottingshire and the Olympics plus many more new projects all build with foreign labour at the sacrifice of our own people

The BNP will put the British people first, after all its our country, never mind what the axis of evil decides

It was fantastic to see such huge support in Neath. The BNP has found great support across Wales and is in every City in Wales. I am so glad that there is a party out there prepared to oust Political Correctness and the Lib/Lab/Con idiots.

LibDems: Your Communist ways have been your downfall. You have chosen to take the forced path of enrichment rather than support the generations that built this country.

Why dont any of you the "allowed" parties actually have the courage to challenge the BNP through debate?, instead of smeers and intimidation from your undemocratic chums in the far left. Whenever the BNP try to discuss the very real problems facing Wales and the rest of the "regions" (thanks Nooo Labour), you "liberal" minded people start acting like spoilt kids. Time to grow as you wont have a country left soon, and it wont have anything to do with Jews or Muslims!..

The leaflet I had was blaming the Goverment for the state of the economy, not Jews or Muslims, in fact there is more concerning these two groups on this blog than anything I heard or read in Neath last saturday, of course the Lib Dems are part of this parliament even if it is in a minor way,
Of course you support Mr Hain, you are all part of the same corrupt money grubbing bunch,

Dont you lot ever get tired of spouting the same old tired abuse about the BNP? They are the only party supporting full withdrawl of all troops from foreign conflicts that dont have any british interests. Ive been a BNP member for the last 5yrs and i donte hate anyone for their skin colour or religion. I hate lib/lab/con/plaid for the lies and mess you have all made of our country. Your lot are as guilty as labour for denying us all a democratic say on europe. The BNP are gaining serious ground in UK political field now and will without doubt gain at least 1 MEP in june. Your tired arrogant and out of ideas so do me a favour and keep your name branding and insults. You will never gain power in the uk. A vote for lib-dem is truly wasted. I suppose you all very proud of obik lempik? What a great example he sets for our kids

I WANT GREAT BRITAIN BACK AND THE BNP ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT ARE GOING TO DO THAT FOR US .SO YES I SUPPORT YOU

Get real. We are never going to get back to when Britain had an Empire and ruled the waves. We have to live in the real world or sink into poverty, as isolationists before us have done.

Michael Green, I certainly agree that Judaism is no threat to Britain. In fact, the way that Jews have enriched the nation, both literally and culturally, since their presence was made legal again by Oliver Cromwell, is proof that multi-culturalism works.

There is a lesson from more recent history, though. Jews were among the most fervent supporters of Mussolini when he came to power on a platform of renewing the ancient glories of Italy. They were poorly repaid within twenty years.

I would also remind you that a few years ago Nick Griffin made the headlines by naming two pigs "Anne" and "Frank". Maybe he has seen the light since, but he was unapologetic at the time.

Dear Mr Little.
Your argument would be correct if you deleted the word ‘fervently’. I do agree with you that many Jews supported Mussolini, but that was purely because he refused Hitler’s demands to export Jews to Germany. In their position I am sure that you would have done the same. Factually though Mussolini was an admitted opportunist. He did nothing without balancing out the end result. However this ultimately led to his grisly end. Sussed by the people he thought adored him.
This whole part of history has been conveniently hidden from general public view for until this article in the Spectator.

Away from that, one commenter has said that he could not find any Jewish names in our membership list. Firstly it is an illegal to possess and use that document and quite sinister that anyone would wish to have it. Secondly just what is a Jewish name supposed to be to differentiate it from any other name? Somehow I feel uncomfortable with someone who seeks to identify Jewish people in such a way. Is this a Liberal Democrat policy?
Between the wars informed advice to Jewish people was to change their surname so as not to appear so Central European to any possible German invaders. My family name is Greenberg. The ‘berg’ part of it refers to living near a hill or mountain. Many people misunderstand ‘berg’ to signify Jewish. This is not the case.
Lastly I would like to thank the moderators on this site for being extremely fair.

Mr Green, I was referring to the early days of Mussolini (don't forget his power pre-dated that of Hitler).

I would also like to correct those commenters who claimed that BNP was the only party who called for the withdrawal of all UK troops. If they were Welsh, they would know that this is Plaid Cymru policy - see this Guardian letter, for instance.

This reply is late I know but It has to be made in order to thank you for your honesty.
You have confirmed to the world that you are a Communist organisation and in the pocket of the Labour party which funds the Marxist/ Socialist workers party to the tune of millions.
You would believe their lies before Mr Green. Very illuminating.
